Possible projects

We are working with XPath now. Other possible projects:

• XSLT
• XQuery
• xml diff and patch (it can be applied to Open Office documents, for example).
• XPath/XSLT over file system: http://uucode.com/texts/xfind/
• Python AST as XML: http://pysch.sourceforge.net/ast.html
• Embedded XML database (needed, for example, here: http://rsdn.ru/Forum/NewMsg.aspx?mid=977775)
• Big XML/XSLT site with a lot of data (>10Gb). Due to lazy bindind, data will be taken on demand.
• Compilation of XPath to source code.
• Optimization of XPath by rewriting source code.

If there was such a function library exposed to XSLT, then my build.xslt script wouldn't have to depend on an Ant task to generate an XML picture of (bits of) the filesystem.
